Are SSH and AppleTalk Incompatible?

Just had a weird thing happen. Has ftp and SSH working great, then I fired up AppleTalk and connected to a local node. After that, I was able to connect to my OS X box via SSH but it would not accept my password. Closing down AppleTalk then rebooting solved the problem. But it makes me wonder--are these two protocols mutually exclusive?

No, I'm running AppleTalk and can use ssh just fine.

I did have the same symptom you described the other day using ssh to connect to my OS X Server. It seemed to be the rebooting that cleared it up but it's also possible that it was NetInfo sync-ing up the user database.

I don't know, but it's sure worth looking into more. I'd try re-enabling AppleTalk and rebooting and see what happens.

Everything's sympatico now. I don't get it. If this happens again, is there a NetInfo trick I can use to avoid reboot?
