Copying from Word2001 into OS X Apps

Can someone tell me how I can copy text from classic applications like Word 2001 and paste them into OS X Apps? Many thanks. Eric at ehd1@psu.edu.

Hmm ... I just select the text, copy, select the OS X app, paste.

That (obviously) doesn't work for you? There are a couple of articles in the Knowledge Base at Apple about this. One claims that you need to wait "a few seconds" to let the two clipboards synchronize prior to pasting ... but 10.1.2 was supposed to handle this.

The second article talks about a spinning cursor when copying from Classic to X apps, and notes that this will only occur if Classic is set to launch when the computer launches.

Can you copy/paste between Classic and Classic? X and X? X to Classic?
