View Full Version : What happened to sending apple server messages??

"In os 9 you could send a message from one computer to another computer if they were connected via ethernet. (You would go to the file sharing control panel, click on the tab that would show you the users currently connected to your computer. Then you double click a name and you click on the pop up menu or something and get to a butten that says "send apple server message")(I think). I cant find this in os X anywhere. Is it just me or did they get rid of it? Is there anything that I can download that will bring it back? If anyone has any info on this for me please let me know!! (dan@danj.net)":confused:

it seems as though the entire "user monitor subsystem" was lost.

i'd like to see a solution to this, also.

...is the only way I know of to get that functionality back. I miss it, too.

With the new "Remote Desktop" software, you can do that and much more between two computers. Finally. :rolleyes:

iChat and Rendevous...looks like those will be pretty cool.
