I am looking for a way to have the entire Itunes Music library and playlist on a network drive, accessible via osx-xp workstations. What I want though is not just to be able to have music in a certain location but the ability that when a Mac machine adds music to the library it updates the centralized playlist and when the XP machine adds music to the library it sees the exact same playlist and adds music to it. Is there anyway to do this, without having to open up another itunes just to see their library? I have 3 computers on my home network and I want to each to be able to see the same exact playlist and music on each.

Thanks

Paul

I'm not sure if you can have three computers using iTunes and accessing the same drive, but if you can, use Smart Playlists (command-option-n) instead of normal Playlists on each machine. Since they essentially calculate their results, new songs added to the library should show up if they meet a Smart Playlist's criteria. Smart Playlists are surprisingly powerful and highly under-rated.
