I just got an iPod Nano. I downloaded a few songs from iTunes, put them on my Nano, burned them to cd, and then deleted them from my comp. Then when I plugged my Nano into the computer to charge the battery, it automatically wiped the memory and all the songs on the Nano were gone. Is there a setting I can change in order to keep the songs on the Nano while I charge the battery?

your problem is deleting them from your computer. The iPod is automatically set to auto-update so any changes you make to the iTunes library will be shown on the iPod the next time you connect it to the computer. You can either keep the music on iTunes (always a nice backup option anyway) or change the iPod option to manual-sync when its connected. It should be in prefs when connected.

kaz, fcfd is correct. When you first connect your iPod you have options on how you want to "sync" between the iPod and the Mac.
Unless you want the ipod to be ONLY what you keep on the Mac, auto syncing will do that -erasing off the ipod what isn't on your Mac -- usually a bad thing!
keeping a manual sync lets you load whatever you want onto your ipod, and only will remove what YOU decide to delete from your ipod. Unless hard drive space is limited, I'd keep the music on my drive....
