newbie question .

i am new to ipods got new 30g just before christmas,
just got one prob when i some times upload music,when i upload different tracks of the same artist it some times makes a fresh file on my ipod ,ie uploaded four rolling stones tracks three went in one file ,the other one went in another file both called (rolling stones),made sure all the spelling was same and dots and dashes.
please can help dont want loads of files named the same,

I think the only reason it does that is if the artist info is a little bit different. Make sure that there are no spaces before the artists name.

The easiest way (I think) to make sure that the artist info is the same for a group of songs is:

1. select all the songs (click top song and then click the bottom song holding down shift key)
2. Control click on the songs and get info
3. Change the artist info for all of the songs.

That way you get the exact same artist for all of the songs in the album.
