Hello. I have a few questions that I'm hoping to have some light shed on. I'll try and be as specific as possible. TIA for any input.
Do Classic applications treat servers differently if the servers are connected via OS X's Connect to Server function as opposed to connecting via the Chooser in Classic? We're having some difficulty with Photoshop in Classic working with files from servers.
1) After searching with Sherlock on a server connected with Connect to Server via TCP/IP or Appletalk, trying to open a file from the server through Sherlock with Photoshop in Classic does not open the file. It opens Photoshop, but not the file. Same thing goes for trying to open a jpg from the server via the Finder; Photoshop opens, but the file doesn't.
2) Trying to run an executable Image Ready action on a folder on the server causes the server to authenticate the user for each file in the folder (by asking the user to type in their password). Connecting to the server via the Choose in Classic seems to solve this problem, but that causes other problems for carbon apps.
Is there a way for Classic apps to see the servers through OS X's networking path? Is that the problem here? Thanks.
