I purchased a 60Gb Video IPod in the States last month and I now what to get my DVD's uploaded to my IPod back in the UK. I have been highly recommended to use Xilisoft DVD to IPod Converter to achieve this aim.

Has anyone used this software and is it easy to rip and then upload the DVD to my IPod? I have seen a free version of the software but it was not immediately obvious on the steps to takes once the DVD had been ripped to get it on to the IPod via ITunes.

Any help/comments would be gratefully received and acted upon ;) :D

I use yasa dvd to ipod converter (http://www.yasasoft.com/yasadvdtoipod/) to convert dvd to ipod video. You may try it.

Serious question.
Is it actually worth trying to watch a movie on a screen as tiny as an iPod?

Yes. Movies were the deciding factor in buying one. On my last flight I had 350+ songs and audio books, one season of the Simpsons, 2 seasons of another sitcom, 5 episodes of E.R. and 5 movies loaded. The screen is clear, bright and very viewable. Too bad the batteries give out in 3 hours, even with an external pack.
Next shopping trip is to Electronics Wonderland to get some C-cell battery holders, another USB extension cable and a compact box.

Why not just plug a power adapter into the planes power socket?

(Thanks for the viewability report)

I have not yet flown on a plane that had a power socket.
