Updating itunes (to add new songs)

I know there must be a simple way to do this-I initially had files on windows media, when I got the Ipod and the software, I popped it in and it transfered. I have added files to windows media since and cannot find the option to update or "search" for new files on the computer to add to itunes.
HELP. I feel stupid enough for asking this but SON!

You probably have duplicate files if they are all in both Windows media and iTunes. I'd reccomend just using one (iTunes)
