I have an ipod and I gave my husband one for Christmas. We only have one computer.

He likes punk and I like top 40 and I DON'T want his punk on my ipod. I saw where you could have 2 ipods on one computer if you went to ipod preference and turned off the "load automatically" setting. Then just create two libraries. I can't find the "load automatically" setting to turn it off. Can anyone walk me through it?

Also, I don't know if we need to load both of our disc to begin with or you can just work off of one?
Thanks

You wouldn't need to do anything special if you each have a separate user account on the computer. There would be two separate iTunes libraries, one in each of the user home folders.

Are you using a Mac or a PC?

Hayne's advice above is the best method, but if you still want the location of the "load automatically" setting, first, connect your iPod to the computer, then go to iTunes > Preferences > iPod > then under every relevant tab, turn on manual updating.

You can't see this setting if you don't have your iPod connected, as it is saved on each iPod individually.
