Can someone who is running 10.2 answer a few questions for me?

Does fink work still?

Does it come with postgresql?

Does php come with pgsql support compiled in?

What version of perl/apache/mod_perl/php?

Does chimera still work?

Can you change the quoting character in Mail.app? Can you change the "Joe User wrote:" line to be something else when you hit reply?

I just want to know if buying the new version is going to stuff up my daily work, and they are mostly the applications I use.

cheers

Things have changed a bit so a rebuild is needed on many standard UNIX apps. In a couple months I expect things will be pretty well ironed out with binaries available, etc. So, if you want all the above running from moment one, check to make sure its been ported to 10.2 before upgrading (i.e., wait for a couple months). I didn't think they were going to change the UNIX layer much in 10.2 and so had to put in some unplanned work rebuilding various UNIX apps after I upgraded. I *did* get everything I needed to rebuild, but it required some work. In retrospect I would have waited since there was no earth-shattering reason for me to go to 10.2. I dont use postgres/php/apache.

Nope. They did fix several other problems with Mail.app however. So far their new junk email filter is at least making a dent in my pile-o-spam.
