I am having a problem with my iPod attached to my PB G4.
After some time (the time differs), my system completely locks up, or becomes so slow that it has be abruptly powered off.
In some cases, I am able to look at the activity monitor before the system becomes too completely bogged down. The activity monitor ("top" shows this as well) is completely maxxed out in CPU cycles at 100%. The monitor also show "system not responding" on iTunes and the System UI Server.
Unplugging my iPod remedies the situation and my CPU cycles return to normal (around 5%). So far, I have completely reformatted the iPod, changed the 1g memory sticks out of my notebook, and reinstalled iTunes. I still have the same problem, and it is very random. I have read the other posts under this section, and they all seem to be related to the iPod itself - not the Powerbook. Is anyone else seeing this issue on their Mac?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
