It teaches me all kinds of sneaky things I had NO clue I could do with OSX.

There are some great tips here I have seen nowhere else.

Without this site, my Swap, Apps and Users partiotions would not exist!!

Great work.:D

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I learn as much from macosxhints as anyone else. That's what makes it so incredibly fun to maintain! Every day, I know I'm probably going to learn something about OS X that I hadn't known the day before.

Thanks for the positive feedback; we'll try our best to make the forums as useful as the hints site. It's tougher here, though, as there will always be more questions than answers! But as questions are answered, they'll migrate to the hints side as solutions.

I really think that this is what makes Macosxhints so special. The site (and this forum) easily allows anyone to share his/her knowledge about Mac OS X. I've never seen any site like this anywhere else, including for Linux and Windows.

Great job! :D

I agree, it's great! It's the most useful osx site I know, and it always keeps me eager for more. Keeps me from my work, though... ;)

The great thing is that, with OS X, there's no experience heirarchy. Everyone's a newbie, and there really are no dumb questions.

And this site cultivates that willingness to share without fear of being laughed at.

So...

What is this "OS X" thingy anyway?

Tyger: :D

I suppose anyone who started with Rhapsody, Mac OS X Server 1.x, or Public Beta has a pretty good experience base by now.

Collectively we are a more sophisticated group than we sometimes realize.

for MacOSX Hints...

You created an excellent site and without a doubt must be a reflection of your personality. It's people like you who make using a Mac real fun.

All the best with the new forum, I will contribute the little I know to make it successful.

Cheers,

I'm an enthusiast, but this is where I come to learn from the wizards as well as give a hand up to the newbies. Great site Rob, keep it comin'.
