I am using the LINE OUT port on the latest Universal Doc, which appears not to be working as a "line out" but more a "headphone out". Specifically, the volume control on the iPod seems to still be functioning with the LINE OUT cable. I always thought that volume shouldn't affect LINE OUT.
Furthermore, I was in the 5th Ave Apple store recently and saw a Nano being used with the doc, and it seemed to be working correctly (in other words, the volume control didn't have any affect on the output via the LINE OUT and the volume didn't change on the speakers).
I feel like I'm missing a setting!
