I have a 60GB iPod that I need to switch to the Windows filesystem so it may be used on a Windows computer. It is currently half full. What is the quickest way to "clone, convert, and copy"? I'm comfortable in the Terminal, so I was wondering if I could simply ditto /Volumes/iPod Desktop/iPod/iPod_Control to backup everything. And ditto Desktop/iPod /Volumes/IPOD/iPod_Control to copy my media back onto to the converted iPod. Would this work?
Thanks

If you move your music on Mac to your Windows. Then, music will automatically sync with the new Windows. Of course, you need to first move your music to Windows...
iPod syncing has some platform-specific features, so I'm not sure if your way works or not.

The thing is I'm not synchronizing my music. I have only manually copied music to the iPod. Besides, I have videos on it also.

Okay, all. I just converted my iPod to a windows-formatted iPod. It was as I expected. You simply have to copy the iPod_Control directory back onto the newly converted iPod, and all is well.
