Has anyone figured out how to convert protected WMA files that libraries are lending out on line(audiobooks) to files that can be listened to on an ipod?
Thanks,
Rochie

Even if libraries are lending them out, they are still copyright protected, and thus not something that we can help you crack.

you may be able to use Audio Hijack (or similar) to record the audio whilst you play the audiobook in WMP and save it as an mp3?
so long as the audiobooks arnt subject to any licensing issues of course. Otherwise that would be illegal and will get this thread closed.
I do know however, that alot of audiobooks/recordings from libraries here in the UK are not subject to copyright if they are recordings of local speeches, conferences or of no real significance.....

If, for whatever reason, you can't free the audio-books you want to listen to from the DRM-hell they're in, having a look here might be worthwhile for free alternatives:

You should probably also tell the library about it in no uncertain terms.
After all, your tax money pays for public libraries and they'd better come up with a solution +you+ can use rather than to annoy their readers with formats the audio-player with the largest market-share can't even decode.
