I use to own an old 40 GB ipod but recently bought a 30 GB video Ipod off ebay, the ipod with absouletly nothing with it just the Ipod itself. I still have all my cables and everything else for my old Ipod and I wanna know how do I start putting videos, pictures, and music, onto my new ipod.

When i plug it into my old cables it says: firewire connections are not supported. to transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided.

what do i do?

I think you need to buy a USB cable suitable for the iPod - check the Apple Store.

yes. new ipods ONLY work with USB. Firewire is no longer supported. Your old ipod should have come with both a firewire and USB cable, but if it didn't you will have to get one. there are plenty of them out there. aftermarket ones are usually cheaper and work just fine. check out some of the retractable ones out there I think they have them at www.radtech.com.

As for videos, if you are using a mac, I'd check out Podner or moviepod. For PC, I wish I knew...
