So my little brother bought a new iPod. The computer he loaded his 2G ipod with has long since died, and with it his music iibrary. What is the latest software for iPod recovery? I think he tried iPodRip with his new 5G and MacBook, but he says it didn't work.

Thanks!

are you having issues using ipod ripping software bec of the Intel chip in the MacBook? or just want some suggestions? as far as i know, you can "rip" music off any iPod. There are several applications that make this task very easy. here's a full tutorial that should help you out: copy music off your ipod (http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ipodsupport/copyoff/index.shtml).

One very good program, albeit for windows, is iPod Data Retrieval (http://www.lightsparkle.com/product_page.php?product_id=1295).

A very good program is iPodDisk (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/28437)

If your iPod is set to launch iTunes automatically when plugged in, and you're set to autsync as well....remember to press the "command" and "option" buttons together prior to plugging in so that it won't auto-sync
