Hi:

I've had an iPod Video, and had it installed via my Intel iMac running Tiger 10.4.7. It was originally Mac formatted and I have iPod updater installed on my Mac for it.

As I can't use it at my work PC (running XP), I've had to reformat the iPod on Windows. Consequently, I now have now use for the iPod Updater app on my Mac anymore. Is there any way I can completely unstall the iPod updater application?

I can't seem to find a way to remove it, and Software Update keeps prompting me to update to the new version, when I don't need it now.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks.

The iPod Updater application is kept in Applications>Utlilites>iPod Software Updater

I assume you just drag the app to the Trash and that's it removed.... I'm not aware of any support files it has in Library or anything like that.

As dduggan said, just drag it to the trash.

Thanks for your replies.

Well, dragging into the trash didn't help - I've done just that, and even emptied my trash, but Software Updates keeps prompting me there's an updated version.

However, I managed to solve it in the end though - by downloading the updated, installing it, and then deleting the entire iPod Software Updater to the trash.

Thanks anyway.

Cheers!

If you haven't installed the updated version, that would explain why Software Update keeps asking you to update. If you never want to be notified of iPod updaters, just tell Software Update to ignore that application...Update Menu > Ignore Update.
