We all have very limited time these days and I listen to the bulk of my Podcasts during my commute to work. I found that the iPod can playback audiobooks at a "faster" setting and thought this might be a good feature for Podcasts. I know that in order to make an mp3 into a audiobook file it has to be AAC. Then it needs to be changed to m4b to be an audiobook track.
Is there a way to get a script or automator action to convert a podcast so that playback can be sped up while listening on an iPod? Either by modifying the file to playback at let's say 1.5x's or change the filetype so that the iPod thinks it's an audiobook and use the "faster" function in settings. Ideally, it would be great to specify playback speed in a script ... like 1.3x's as fast.
I have found a script to this in iTunes, but nothing that modifies the file for iPod playback.
TIA
