Hi. A few days ago my Ipod all of a sudden stopped being recognized by Itunes on my computer.
Windows recognizes it, yet Itunes does not. I tried resetting it and downloading new Itunes, yet neither has worked. Also, the Ipod updater will not recognize it either. I have tried this on 2 machines and the same thing happens.
I have dropped the ipod before (never on cement), but this problem happened a few days ago. Does anyone have any suggestions?

have you tried restarting your PC?
Can you access the files on the iPod from Windows Explorer?
Have you tried reinstalling the iPod Updater (http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/)?

1. Yes, but the same thing keeps happening.
2.No, the PC freezes up when I do that.
3. Yes, but the updater still wont work.

Well, if you have nothing else to lose you can try and format it on a Mac. Then plug it back into your PC and hope it recognizes it that way. It'll just have to reformat it again. I've seen it work once... but just once.

I had a similiar problem, all the symptoms (except for that I could access the iPod from Windows Explorer). The problem in my case was that I had changed the drive which the iPod connected as. My initial setting was that it connected to I:, but I just removed the C: drive (my Windows installation is on H:, don't ask), so when I connected the iPod again, it got connected as C:. I re-configured it to use I:, and now it works again.
Not sure, but it might help you if you did something that caused the iPod to be mounted with a different drive letter.

I apologize for not placing this in the right forum, but I am unsure what to do:
I purchased a new iPod Shuffle off ebay (which evidentally was not new, because it had songs on it) and it is recognized only by the Mac Desktop. That means that neither iTunes or iPod Updater recognizes my iPod. I've tried all of apple's troubleshooting, and nothing helps. Please assist.
