I am interested in imaging my computer hard drive on my iPod. My first question being is this possible? If anybody has any ideas I would appreciate it greatly. If somebody has ideas I'll post exactly what I would like to do.
Thanks

Yeah, it's perfectly possible. You can even use it to backup your files. Although I don't have one yet ( :( ), you should be able to simply hook it up and use it as a regular drive.

Thanks,
I am aware of the iPod's storage ability, but I would like to mirror my HD minus the music folder on my iPod. I have 22GB of free space on my iPod and 1.5GB of free space on my iBook. Note that 32GB of space on my HD consist of music files. I am trying to free up HD space on my iBook. So, is it possible to mirror your HD on your iPod?
Another question. Since I already use my iPod as a storage HD, I would like to block other users access to my files (in case it is ever stolen). Has anyone ever set the iPod permissions to "no access" and enabled the "apply to enclosed items" function? If so, does it prevent other users from accessing your files?
Thanks

Use Carbon Copy Cloner (http://www.bombich.com.nyud.net:8080/software/ccc.html) (bandwidth-saving URL). You can 'clone' to a disk image or a folder or another drive, in this case, and iPod. To exclude your Music, just use the Advanced settings.
Permissions are a very weak system of protection on external drives. If you are an admin (even on another mac), you could just get info on the iPod and check the "Ignore permissions" box.
You might already know this, but the best way to protect your files would be to use an encrypted disk image, preferably a sparse image to conserve space.
