Not really a question, Just wanted to talk about iLife '06:cool:
Yesterday my package from e-bay arrived, It was my iLife '06 software :)
I wanted GarageBand for a long time, This has to be one of the Coolest applications I've ever seen. I have'nt stop playing around with it since last night :D It's more powerful and creative than I thought it would be.
I got a Bonus with my package that I did'nt even know was part of the deal,
iWork '06 !! All for $52 total cost
I have'nt even tried out iWeb or iDVD yet, I've used iPhoto plenty before and think it's Great.
If anyone has had any experience with iLife '06 or iWork and wants to share some tips please express yourself to no end ;)

Good job... but is iWork a trial version?
I think you'll find pretty much all Mac users have delved into at least some of these apps.... I've used iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, Pages and a little bit of keynote.
They are IMHO, all more than adequate for the average - and even above average - home users!
You can find tons of information on the Apple discussions forums at the Apple website.
I really hope you get as much use out of those apps as many of the users out there have! Oh... and please remember that no app is perfect, and while some folks have issues, I really believe the vast majority are happy with their Macs and associated apps!!

The 'real software' requires entry of the registration code. If you haven't entered that code, then it's a 30-day trial, then your copy of iWork will expire...

Hi Blueimac,
I've found just getting into the software an having funny is a great way to learn. i Web is worth the 60 day trial. I ended up subscribing so 'we' could have a family website to share with family and friends - it's easier for them to chose photos to download rather than us send thiings they don't want. If you want a peek, it may be dull to non family or friends, but it was great fun to do.

It loook about 5 hours to get to its current stage.

Ok, Lets get this straight once and for all, The iLife '06 is a Real Apple DVD with Real Software !! The iWork '06 does Work because I have a Registration/Serial Number to Activate It
Nothing is going to expire or Just Disapear One Day
It really Ticks Me Off with someone makes Dumb Comments and Assumes I'm stupid
I've been using Macs, Apple Software and Third Party Software long enough to know what a Key Code/Registration Number looks like and What it's for
Now find something better to do than insult me or Stick to the subject I started !!! It was suppose to be a " Why I like iLife " Question and Sharing ideas sort of thing
Now shall we try this again

Looks like you pretty much have the hang of using iWeb :D
Nice house, What state do you live in if you don't mind me asking ?
I have'nt tried out iWeb yet, Still busy with Garage Band :)
What kind of Mac are you using ? I bought a G4 Gigabit Duel 450Mhz with Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse at a Market Pro Computer show almost two months ago. I sold my iMac Snow 600Mhz for $200 and that's exactly what I spent on the G4

Hi BlueMac,
We live in Dubbo (pop. 40,000), New South Wales, Australia. I've just added a bit about Dubbo to the site. It really is a work in progress.
I haven't looked at Garage Band. Perhaps I should follow my own advise and get into it and have fun.
I have a 20" 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5.

Not too many tips here, but would just encourage you to get into iWork too. The only problem I had with it was due to disappearing fonts, which wasn't an iWork problem to begin with. Anyhow, I just made a poster with Keynote and can say that things were super easy. Being able to drag things, especially pdfs, onto the screen and then line everything up (those thin yellow lines are super) makes things really fast and fun. It's very literally almost all the power of LaTeX without having to memorize a 900+ page book. The "opacity" setting makes things even better.
Pages is good too. I've written several things in it so far. It has decent Table of Contents, crossreferencing and indexing features.
Anyhow, you definitely got your moneys' worth. :)

I've never been much for reading software Manuals or Books unless I really have to
I can usually figure out anything on my own, I don't make notes or write anything down. I kinda have a selective memory, I can remember anything to do with computers, software, electronics, electrical ,mechanical, music and a few other choice subjects :D
What drives me nuts is I can't remember a birthday, phone number or what i had for dinner the night before
What can i say :(
I plan on installing iWork today, I have so much software to play around with right now !!
I just installed Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium the other day which includes -
Acrobat Professional CS 7.0
Adobe Bridge CS 1.0.4.6
Adobe GoLive CS 8.0.1
Adobe illustrator CS 12.0.1
Adobe InDesign CS 4.0.4
Adobe Photoshop CS 9.0.2
And thats just for starters, I have over 50 applications installed on my G4 right now !!!
I spend most of my time working on Audio and Video projects, I make Music CD's and Home DVD's for all my family and Friends.
