Hello, I found on a bbs the beta of 10.2.2 6f9 which I guess uograde any Jaguar or higher version. With the previous beta, 10.2.2 6f6 the computer was running OK, but now with this newest patch, especially when I want to trash an item, the cursor will go into working mode and will loop forever! I guess there is probably a major memory usage problem???
I have also noticed that since I have upgrade from 10.1.5 to Jaguar, my Mac is eating much more run and especially after open and quit few applications it will run out of memory very fast. Anyone has noticed the same behavior???
Regards, Andrea
ps: I run on a Titianium 550Mhz with 512mb of ram

Okay, here's how to fix this:
1) Get your Jaguar CDs and do a clean install.
2) Use Software Update to get the 10.2.1 update
3) There is no step three !
(Okay, I guess step three is: Wait until there is an officially released version of the update and don't waste time (yours & ours) in dealing with things that are intended for developers.)

Hayne is right, if you install a beta of OSX you're effectively dealing with a build that hasn't been cleared by Apple, ergo, it maybe unstable.
On the other side, upgrading to around 768 MB of RAM really helps, the difference for me was night and day. If you run Classic in conjunction with a few heavy duty apps this would help a great deal.
If you run some third party apps they may have a memory leak somewhere, which is worth checking out with the "top" command in Terminal.
OSX really never runs out of memory, I suppose you're referring to the fact that you're having to page_out alot because you're running alot of apps, supposedly, with the new app_profile function with the vm_manager the vm usage is more efficient.
Just reinstall and wait till the real update comes out, unless you're programming apps for OSX you shouldn't really use the new builds. Your reach should never exceed your grasp....
