Hi,

I have several songs on my iPod. Some of them play at higher volumes while others are real soft. Is there anyway of making them play at the same volume. I have adjusted the volume in the settings of the song under the get info tab, but that didn't work

Thanks

Did you try going to Prefs>Playback>sound check?

Should I disable sound check cause right now it is enabled. And if I do this, does that mean I have to re-import all my music again to get it to work properly.

Checking sound check will go though all of your music and adjust the volume of the songs to be the same level. You do not have to reimport. It just might take a while for iTunes to adjust all your songs.

If Sound Check is enabled on your computer, make sure it is also enabled on your iPod as well.

[Aha! Thanks very much for the tips, Screengem and ThreeDee! And thanks J Dub for raising the question. I'm brand new to using iPods and had wondered about that.

Respectfully, Norm

iVolume was suggested in another thread (http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=51202) as a better alternative to the built in sound-levelling software of iTunes.

The thread also contains a good discussion of why certain songs are louder than others.

did you get all the songs on itunes or were some of them off cds and limewire? Especially with limewire, people who publish audio with that dont always use the same initial volume.
