I am running iTunes 7.0.2 on my mac mini with OS X 10.4.7 and Quicktime 7.0.4

I used to have a G4/400 and everything worked fine on that, i would rip using handbrake and import to itunes just fine. Now on my new mac mini the videos will play in quicktime but will not import into iTunes. I took one video to work to test it on my dual G5 (power pc) and it worked fine there. The only difference I am seeing with all three machines is the intel processor. I've attempted to import old mp4 files i had as well as ripped a new one on my mini and nothing will import into itunes... any thoughts?

Does the problem continue from a newly-created user?

everything took place on macs, i should also add that i got rid of iTunes and reinstalled just to see if there was something wrong with my version of iTunes but same issue occurs.

In another thread (http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=63261) Simon Ocean suggested the following:

Here's what you need to do:

Open the movie in Quicktime, save as a reference movie.

This will generate an extra file that is a reference file to your original movie.

Drop the reference movie onto iTunes, this create a link between the reference and the original movie file.

You can then "get info" on the reference file in iTunes and change the name etc.

This has worked every single time I have tried it with avi, divx and mov.

This also enables the video to be opened in FrontRow too.
Might be worth a try...

...or upgrading to Quicktime 7.1.3 might work.
