Converting DVD's

Hi All,

I was wondering if I am able to convert any of the DVD's in my collection so that I can play them on my ipod? Since I already own them, I would like to be able to take them along on trips etc. Plus, the idea of paying $9.99 for a movie from itunes that is of limited use is a bit off putting.
