Hi,

I'm new here.
Thanks for listening.....

I have OS X 10.4.8 and had iTunes going fine. Nice.
Ok. So I ran into some quirks after upgrading to iTunes 7.
I have read loads of stuff where people have had problems like
mine. I tried to get help but that has led to other added issues.

I am trying to do as Apple support suggested, but do not have the exact instructions, and could not seem to locate them online.

I have cloned my HD to a backup partition.
I have also additionally closed iTunes - to a storgabe partition.
(both on an external drive.) I had 25 GB of tunage and podcasts. Yes, I'm an addict. So everything I need is off my HD on the machine - a MacBook.
Apple says back it all up, the reinstall iTunes. Without getting into every detail and the whole history, I agree.

But how.

Given that I have all the toons and stuff backed up and off my drive.
what can I do to quickly blast iTunes off, then add it.
Then how do or do I add the tunes back? (separate from the app or any associated files, that is)

Any quick n dirties appreciated.
I have a tough day coming up this Thursday, and having some peaceful music and stuff to listen to will make it easier.

I don't presently have a support contract. Well, someone else claims to have signed me up, but when I call, Apple says I don't have one. So I dunno, I just want some tunes and then I will figure it out after the crazy Thursday. Better off by far doing it myself if possible. Although Apple Support ROCKS. :-)

Thanks,
MB:)

If you've got everything backed up, why can't you just download iTunes and reinstall it? You might delete if from /Applications first, but I'm not sure if you even need to do that.

and simple
I always love the genius of simple

so - since there is a space problem ( 25 GB of iTonnage etc still also on my HD), then I guess I have to first blow away the folder with the toons and podcasts - the one on my MacBook THEN install iTunes

I'm tired today. Brain hurts.
If this sounds sound, or insane, replies welcome.
