Hi all,

I received an Ipod fifth generation for my birthday \o/

Now does anyone have any tips on the following?

• What CD ripper to use I find that Itunes isn’t very good at all but I do like it to sort out my music

• What’s the best way to rip a DVD on to the ipod? (please state how and what to use as I have no idea)

• I have an ITRIP which uses the dock , and the songs on the ipod seem to be quite through my car speakers is there anything I can change by ripping to make the music louder?

Thanks in advanced

Any ripper based on the "lame" codec are going to be among the best. CDEX does that on windows. I just use iTunes on Mac. Have you tried ripping at a higher bitrate?

To tip a DVD to the ipod you need the following:
Handbrake and set it to max 2500bps for mpeg-4 or 768 for h.264

Does Itunes do this LAME Codec?

Handbreak is pants for Windows anyway , it doesn't pick up the DVD's
