I have a 2nd generation iPod Nano and am going on a trip -- I also have an old, 3rd generation iPod (15GB) Firewire AC adapter with cord and was wondering if I could use it to simply charge up my iPod? Is it safe? My guess is it should be but just want to be sure. I only want to recharge my battery with it. Thanks

Or another alternative ... is there a way to set my iTunes to not launch when I plug an iPod in? I am travelling with a Powerbook, though my iPod is synched with my iMac. I don't want to screw things up, but if I could charge my iPod through the PB's USB without messing with the iTunes library, that'd work just as well. Thanks

Yes, that's perfectly safe, and faster than charging over USB. (As you already know, you can't sync your iPod Nano that way, though.)
