An unknown error occurred (-48) on new 80gb

I HAVE SEEN A SIMILAR THREAD WITH AN ERROR CODE OF -50, BUT MINE IS -48!

I have a new 80gb video ipod that I bought in America and am using here in the UK with itunes 7. When ever I try to sync I get an error messeage that says "Ipod unable to sync. An unknown error occurred (-48)"

If I manually change some of the check boxes in itunes (on the window next to my ipod) I can then click the apply button and the pod gets updated.

Also when I left it updating over night, I noticed that set up in Itunes had changed - the check boxes to manually update and using as a hard drive had changed.

Anyone any ideas?

I wonder if its to do with all the daylight saving updates Apple have been doing.
