Hi everyone, I'm new. And I'm new to IPod. Just recently I got a IPod for Christmas. I had to quickly upload my music to my IPod or risk having that and my entire collection on CD be packed away. In other words I got my IPod the same day the moving company was packing the house up. And I wanted my IPod for the airplane ride to my destination.

However there are tracks on my IPod that I don't want. And I forgot to make a duplicate copy of my entire library on a seperate source. I am using my family's laptop and was wondering: How can I copy my music on my IPod to my laptop? My music library is stored on my home computer and in storage and wont be accessible for several months.

I want to be able to add and remove music freely without risking the loss of my entire collection. So backing my IPod library seems the logical first step.

Now I did try to move all 100 songs by hand but when I went into the IPod Control's Music folder there were 50 folders and my music scattered even duplicated. It'd take weeks to find and locate the duplicates and delete the duplicates.

So does anyone know of a great program that is either free or low cost for me to be able to copy my library from IPod to Computer?

All of my music is MP3 format. I did not purchase any music from ITunes.

Thats great and all. But I use Windows XP. Second, how do I get the utility to work? It's a compressed file. Where do I need to move these items in the folder?
