I'd like to purchase an iPod before i leave for Japan in January.. is there any chance that apple will upgrade the iPod within this time? Basically.. I would buy the 10gig iPod and i want to know if apple upgrades would it lower the cost of the 10gig by 100$ or so... anybody have info on this? I'm kinda broke so 400$ will kill my fun money for a while.

Out of curiosity are you a Marine by any chance? ( I ask that because you’re in Cali and your going to Oki... Been they’re done that got the T-shirt ).... Anyway as far as the price coming down I seriously doubt it.... Ever since the original 5 GB came out the price on all models has stayed the same.... I've got a 20 Gb and love it.... I do however recommend you buy a case prior to actually getting your iPod its finish is very sensitive.... iSkin makes a good case, protects and fits well, other than it not having a belt clip I couldn't ask for more...

The 10gb and 20gb models come with a case (and remote), or were you just pointing out the great iSkin cases?

Yeah, I was just pointing out the iSkin case... The supplied case only partially protects ... The iSkin case goes the extra mile to include the finish of the iPod.... I realize your not supposed to charge the iPod in a case but its raised and has holes, which prevent it from getting too hot... Anyway my two cents....

Rob - Okinawa? I'm going to Osaka! :) ..and no.. and im not a marine. I'm going there because it makes it easy for me to complete my japanese minor at school. but... i really want the 10gig ipod. damn.... i need money!
