Rob,

Here's the idea. When a registered user is logged in, on the right side of the page -- within the 'user control panel' panel -- we need to have a link that is something to the effect of 'My Favorites' or 'Hint Box' or something. The way that I would put things in there is, whenever I see a hint that I just absolutely don't want to loose track of, in the hint's title bar or something I can click on a link 'Put in my Hint Box.'

Then all of my favorite/most useful hints are only a click away. And maybe (c'mon programmers - I know you can do it ;)), maybe even let me rate my favorite/most useful hints on a personal level, outside of the scope of the overall hint rating. :)

Edit: And maybe in addition to (or instead of) the separate rating system, we could have categories or tags: Fun, useful, tweaks, security, fixes, style, programming/unix/terminal, etc. I dont know if it'd be a static set or if we could have the ability to just creat our own tags.

Use browser bookmarks. Problem solved.

Use browser bookmarks. Problem solved.

That's not a one-click solution. We're talking lazy here. And Synergy. I like the one click 'Rate this hint.' One click - and this hint could be added to my favorites. In safari, I can just hit the + button but with this method I've got to first click on the hint, to bring up the proper URL, click the + button, navigate the right sub folder and then take out "macosxhints.com - " from the title so all my bookmarks don't have the same 18 characters at the beginning of the name (that would be useless), and then finally click back to view other hints. It's just not as easy or synergistic.

Subscribing to threads puts all that in your Control Panel - well, without the tags option and stuff.

To subscribe to a thread use the Thread Options pull down menu.

It's an oft-requested feature, and we're aware of the interest in it ... I'll update with more news if/when I have any. :)
