The QuickTime player logo at the top of this (Macosxhints forum) is grayed out and there's a question mark on top of it. I am at a loss as to why. I checked QuickTime on my computer. It's fine. Can anyone tell me why or what to do. Thanks.

That usually means there is a movie file the browser is trying to load, but it's not there. Basically a "404 Not Found" type of message. And I don't see any movie near the top of the forum...

It's probably the ad at the top of the page. They use Flash animation, and the problem sounds like the one I had after the most recent QuickTime update.

I fixed it by going into the QuickTime System Preference and in Advanced -> MIME Settings... -> Miscellaneous unchecking the 'Flash media' box. Then the Flash plugin handled it instead of QuickTime, and all was well.
