iPod Touch WiFi with Old Airport Base Station

I have successfully used WiFi on my iPod Touch with my Airport Extreme Base Station, but need to try to get access through an old Silver Airport Base Station. The connection between the Base Station and the internet is fine, but when I try to use the iPod Touch, I get a message saying that Safari can't find the server. The documentation on the iTouch says it works with 802.11 b/g wireless. Is it possible that this old base station uses too old a protocol to work with the iTouch?

assuming its able to connect fine it sounds like its having a DNS issue.... you mgiht want to check how you have DNS setup on the router
