What I'm Working With:

iPod Classic
80 GB
Mac OS X Leopard
iTunes 7.5

Here are the issues:

1. My iPod is Overly Case-Sensitive.

My iPod regards the following as three different albums:
Poor Righteous Teachers "New World Order"
Poor Righteous Teachers "new world order"
Poor Righteous Teachers "New world order"

^^Note the case conditions of the album title "New World Order". The above is aggravating and murder to handle in a large, diverse library. Each one shows up in the iPod OS separately. I want my iPod to be case-INsensitive, like iTunes appears to be. How can I accomplish that?

2. My iPod syncs playlists that I have NOT selected for syncing.

Take a look at the images below. I'm showing the sync'ed contents of my iPod as well as the relevant settings in iTunes. I do NOT want "Compilations NO", for example, to sync to my iPod, but there it is! In fact, I don't want anything under the "~Metadata" folder to sync, but there the dang thing is!

Based on my current iTunes settings, the ONLY playlist that should be syncing is the "Hip Hop" smart playlist.

How do I get my iPod to sync ONLY the playlists that I explicitly select for sync'ing?
