The OS X Energy Saver Preferences are lame compared to those we had in OS 9, and I miss some of those options. I leave my iMac on 24/7, but don't really need it "awake" all that time. I realize it's not hurting the OS, but I would like to let things cool off awhile, and also save a little on energy.
I've contacted Apple about this on their feedback page for OS X, but who knows when we'll see results.
So, I'm wondering if there's a way to schedule Wake and Sleep using Applescript or Chrontab? I've messed around a bit with Applescript, only problem is that once the machine is asleep, the Applescript is worthless.
Any workarounds?
Phil
