Newbie question re: delete all from iPod

I want to delete everything from an 80GB iPod. I have read on this forum that one can delete from an iPod by going to the manual mode and clicking of files (and folders?) to be deleted. Is there a faster process whereby I can delete everything at once -- sort of like formatting a hard drive on a computer?
