My brother and I just got a brand new Ipod classics for Christmas and what happened is I hooked up his Ipod first. I set it up, synced a few songs, got it set up, and now when I put in my Ipod it automatically ejects it! Is this a problem or is it a default setting that you cant have more than one ipod? If you can only have one could someone please tell me how to uninstall it?

does it automatically ejects in finder or itunes?

if it's only in itunes u can change the settings to enable disk use.
then it should work.

Dang, It's got the same problem again. The first time I just charged it all the way and for some reason it just started working so I just forgot the whole thing. But now it's having the same problem where it'll just automatically eject when I plug it in. It doesn't show in finder or Itunes. Any suggestions?

Try resetting the iPod. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705

it appears that im gonna have to keep this thread open for a little while longer.
heres my chain of events in this little dilemma of mine:

1. get first ipod (80GB Classic)
2. try setting it up for the first time (stupid)
3. have trouble with having two ipods on the same computer (solved)
4. ipod wont mount
5. charge it then it mounts
6. get all the stuff I want on it
7. finally relax...
8. $*#! it's not mounting again!
9. Research some tips on the internet
10. starts working again
11. Relax... sort of.
12. ...not again (current)
13. i plug it in and it says "Connected - Eject before disconnecting" then immediately goes and ejects itself. but I know its not the cable because the ipod screen shows the charging battery icon.
14. I know its connected, so I go to disk utility and it's still not showing up.
15. prepare to smash head into computer screen
16. start cooling down
17. post a thread on the "macosxhints forum"
18. you guys choose what step "18" is... hopefully

Sorry, the charging battery icon doesn't prove that the cable is good. Even a battery that becomes charged when it was not charged before doesn't prove that, since the power lines on the USB cable are separate from the data lines. If the data lines are compromised but the power lines are alright, you would still have problems, but charge up the iPod nicely.

Try a new cable.
