I got a two-disk, great music video for Christmas and I'd love to get some of the audio tracks on it onto my iPod nano. I realize that iTunes can convert the video and move it to the iPod, but I just want the sound tracks for a dozen or so of the "chapters" (My iPod is just 4G). Can iTunes do that or am I into that DCMA gray zone (and on my own)?

You can convert the files into a format iMovie will be able to read, import into iMovie, export as an AIFF, and convert to MP3 or AAC using Max (http://sbooth.org/Max/) or iTunes or something.

Or, you can use VLC and convert it directly from DVD>WAV, and then use Max to convert to MP3 or something. I'm not exactly what the difference between integer and float is. The bitrate doesn't matter.
