I can't sync my iPod classic... I get error -53 (which is not on the internet anywhere)... can I be the only person in the whole world with error -53? It worked for the first couple of weeks I had it, so it isn't the library.

I did the 5 R's (several times). I got a new cord. Tried different USB ports. A few days ago, I got a message about having a corrupt disk, but if that is so, I can't seem to fix it. Any ideas? Please? Thanks

I just ran into the same problem. My setup is a third gen ipod that's been working for a few years (four maybe?) and Windows 2000 (which, I know... this is a Mac forum). My computer said that the disk was corrupt, so I reformatted it and then did "Recover" in iTunes. Now my computer doesn't complain that it's corrupt, but I still get the "error -53" soon into the sync. I did mess around with the USB devices connected to my computer since my last sync some six months ago. But I'm tending to think that there's something wrong with the hard drive at the hardware level. I'd appreciate any ideas anyone has. Thanks.

I had the same problem aswell..it was driving me crazy
then i tryed syncing my ipod in disk mode and it worked :)

to get into disk mode hold down middle and menu and when the apple sign comes up hold down play and middle...it should boot into diskmode.
hopefully this will work for you
