iPod beeping?

I recently placed some music videos converted with iSquint onto my new 80GB iPod Classic. It's barely a week old. I scrolled around to find the video, selected it, the HD spun up, the iPod made an audible 'beep' (not from the headphones, from the iPod itself), and then started playing the video. Now, it will seem to randomly beep when listening to music, or watching a video.

Is this normal? It doesn't sem 'healthy'.

Doing a Google search leads to a load of unhelpful answers like "wel mabe its broken and u shoud giv it back to aple to fix".

I noticed my fifth-gen iPod video, AND my iTouch doing the same thing whenever I connect it to charge.

Maybe it's the Apple drivers on the computer side of things causing this?
