epson only provides drivers for epson stylus photo 1270 and 1280... may there be a way to bring a 1200 to live under mac os x?

or does anybody know if epson plans to release a driver for this printer?

every idea much appreciated! :-)

In a thread on this forum, I've suggested a potential solution offered by Gimp-Print 4.2, which does support your printer under Linux.

However, it will take a Unix guru to make this fly under OS X.

The link is: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net

Good luck.

Yeah, Epson suck.

I have been trying to get som support with these issues, all I got was a guy telling me that when the 1270 driver came out it would work with the 1200, and the seccond time that I would just have to wait until epson released drivers.

I think the first reply was sort of correct, I have seen some information on hacing drivers to work with similar models. I have lost the link though. Someone must have the link on how to hack a 1270 Driver to work with the 1200, I wonder if I would be able to print borderless with the 1270 driver?

If it is that easy to make a printer work then why hasn't epson made a driver already, even with limited options.

Anyway, in the mean time, you can always print, press preview, save the preview PDF, open it with acrobat in classic mode and print it from there.

Try http://homepage.mac.com/balthisar/HPNetworkInkjet.sit

It includes gimp-print.
It may or may not work, depending on your setup.
