How to switch keyboard layouts?

Now I'm using xmodmap to enable russian keyboard. Everything works fine.

Is the any way to switch keyboard layouts permanently. It's so hard to type some text pages with pressed Alt key.
Is the any keyboard switchers for X11 ?
