Hi, I was wondering if the following is possible. I tried logging into my computer using another OS X computer on a local network using SSH. I was wondering if there is any way of getting whatever I do to show up on the screen that I"m at, not my home computer that I'm logged into. Any advice? Thanks,
Gabe

I think OSXvnc (http://www.osxvnc.com) will do what you want - remote control of the GUI from one machine to another, correct? Timbuktu for OS X (commercial) is another solution.

Thanks Griffman but I've already tried VNC. It's good but I don't need the whole screen. I just need what I'm working on. for instance if I type "open picture.jpg" I'd like it to open up on the computer I'm at, not my home computer. :)
Thanks,
Gabe

i believe that's one of the things the invention Xwindows was to achieve. remote display focus.
from computer A, open a file that resides locally on computer B, display it on computer C and that kind of stuff.
here's an example of that business: http://www.freelists.org/archives/juneau-lug/12-2001/fullthread1.html
is that what you're looking for?
you bring up a real good issue. shouldn't it be easier to select display targets than running Xwindows? hmmm, i'll have to think about that (klang klang).

Yep, you'll need X Windows installed to do something like this.
But if that's all you want, why not just connect via filesharing over IP and mount the remote machine as a local disk? You could then use the Terminal if you wanted to without SSH, and "open" would act locally.
Would that accomplish your objectives?
