Hi all,

When I perform a search or Spotlight search on my mac this seems to ignore all the files and non music files on my ipod. I keep a lot of non music files on my ipod and want to able to search these.

I can list the folders on the ipod using the terminal (ls command).
Is there a find command.

Cheers,

Steve

spotlight automatically ignores certain directories/volumes.
i'm assuming your ipod is one of the things that it ignores.

Yeah, I found this command for the terminal:

sudo mdimport -f /Volumes/your_iPod/iPod_control/

which indexed my ipod on 10.4 but I'm getting this error in 10.5:

mdimport will not import on behalf of root user. Exiting.

This works on 10.5:

mdutil -i on /your_iPod
