I have upgraded the hard drive in my Apple TV and now want to use the original 40GB drive in an old G4 Mac Mini. When I put the hard drive in the Mini, the machine powers on but won't boot from the OS X install CD. The installer CD was then stuck in the drive, and when I went in to Open Firmware to eject it I couldn't even do that. So it was as though the Apple TV hard drive was stopping all IDE devices from working properly. When I put the original hard drive back in everything was fine - I could boot from hard drive or CD and could eject the CD. I tried putting the Apple TV hard drive in a USB caddy and doing a quick erase on it, but it still did the same thing. Is there anything hardware/firmware-wise which is different about these hard drives? Could a zero-fill help?

TIA
