Unusual scroll wheel problem on 80GB iPod Classic

I wouldn't necessarily call it a "problem" in that it is still working but... its just annoying. Somehow my ipods scroll wheel "play/pause" button isn't "clicking", i.e. I can still pause it and such but I think the button itself is broken. Like I said, it doesn't "click" when I press it.

any ideas on how this could have happenned?
