My father got an iPod Touch2 and is transferring all his contacts from his Palm addressbook. He has many international phone numbers in his list and when they are imported, the iPod displays them all as a run-on, without any hyphens or parentheses. So for example, "(52-55) 1234-5678" is converted into "525512345678", and manually entering new contacts into the iPod addressbook, the only non-numbers allowed are +, *, and #. He is on Windows, so he can't use Address Book.app to enter the numbers there.

Is there a way to have the iPod recognize and properly format international numbers? If I remember correctly, he had the Palm Desktop program export his #s into Outlook, which were then easily imported by the iPod.
